Evening Of Excitment

We have puppies.

Daisy wants everyone to know that she did fine and that she is the proud momma to 6 little spotted babies.

They started arriving about 6pm last evening.

She is a very good first time momma and she is taking excellent care of them.
She is very proud of her little creations and oh are they cute....and noisy.

We have them in a big box in our bedroom. We wanted her close by, in case she delivered during the night.
Big mistake on our part.
I don't think we slept a wink.
They woke up no less than 4 times last night, all six crying at once.
We kept getting up and checking to make sure she wasn't mashing one and making sure everything was all right.

Hopefully tonight everyone will be more settled.

We also had another bit of excitement last evening and like crazy people, we were out at midnight taking it all in and looking at all the water.

The rains came...and came....and came.

We experienced a small flash flood last night, 5 inches of rain fell onto our already saturated ground that was quenched with 3 inches of rain from the day before.

The river is not out of it's banks, this is run off that has yet to drain into the river.

This photo was taken this morning and I think the highway is open again to traffic.

The vacationing girls arrived home from Mexico last night during this rain storm and they had to drive through water to reach the house where every ones cars were parked.

They were ready to get home come hell or high water...snort!...snort!

And that answers my question about the water- I noticed it back there in some of your other pics and wondered if it ever flooded. Goodness.

  8. Puppies, floods, and gals arriving home from Mexico. I don't think it can get much more exciting there. Hope that you all sleep well tonight, including Daisy and her pups. Hope that the water recedes without incident. And I hope that your vacationing family members steered clear of the flu.

Those puppies are so cute and you're going to have so much fun with them.

  13. OH PUPPIES!!!!! Aren't they darling! Congratulations!!

Well have some rain! My goodness! But I'd give anything if we could have all of those inches. We are 6 behind, and have now been behind the last 3 years. Yup - drought conditions. Which in California means some IDIOT will start setting fires. sigh.

So relieved everyone made it home from Mexico.
My in-laws are leaving on a Mediterranean cruise -
    what timing!

Congratualtions again! They are just adorable!

    BIG HUGS TO ALL! Karen
